Jesus is our Healer

All throughout the Bible, we can find instances of Jesus healing people. Since, Jesus is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow, we can boldly state that Jesus still heals us from all diseases.

Isaiah 53:5 (Amplied Bible): But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.

1 Peter 2:24 (NLT): He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.

In the New Testament, the first time we read about Jesus healing people was in Matthew 4:23 (NLT): “Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.”

Some people think that the first recorded healing that Jesus did was in John 4:46-54 (NIV): “Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death. “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.” The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus replied, “You may go. Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at his word and departed. While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.” Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and all his household believed. This was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, having come from Judea to Galilee.”

All throughout Jesus’ life here on this earth as a man, He healed everyone who came to Him asking for healing. Today, Jesus is still healing people who ask Him for healing. He is our healer. Amen.
